10th Annual TV Land Awards to Be hosted by Kelly Ripa

The prestigious “TV Land Awards of 2012”, recognizing classic music, film and television icons, will be back to New York Cityland will be hoted by Kelly Ripa. This news was announced by Larry W. Jones, TV Land’s president. Previously Ripa hosted the show in the year 2007. It has been celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, powerhouse songstress Aretha Franklin will be honored by the awards with the music icon award and the program will be held at Gramercy Park at Lexington Avenue on 14th April, Saturday. The program will be aired on Sunday, 29th April at 9 pm. In coming weeks, more honored will be revealed.

Jones said, “they are very happy to brging back Kelly as she does her role again as host of the Awards thie year for their tenth anniversary celebration. Her enthusiasm, love and energy on television make her the best person to host the evening on the occasion of 10th anniversary, he said.

TV Land Awards has been successful including the numbers that were record breaking in 2011 awards, which catched more than two million viewers for its premiere show. The star studded special event, which took place in NYC for the first time, was the biggest rated TV Land Awards show since 2004 throughout all important demos and posted gains of doublt digit in rating and output over other shows.

The TV Land Awards pays honor to contemporary and classic VIPs of television, movies and music. The telecast of ninety minutes will include delightful musical performances and will bring together some of the very popular TV celebrities.

Past honorees feature Michael J. Fox, John Travolta, Bill Cosby, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, Garry Marshall, Regis Philbin, the cast of “Desperate housewives”, “Glee”, and the fantastic sitcoms “The Cosby Show”, “Cheers”, “The Facts of Life”, “Family Ties”, “Everybody Loves Raymond”, “The Dick Van Dyke Show”.
