Tom Cruise, Top Actor in the list of Highest Paid Actors

Tom Cruise was on top in the annual list of Forbes for 100 highest paid actors, which came out on Tuesday. He earns almost twice of Leonardo DiCaprio who is on second place. He recaptured his place among the top earning actors of Hollywood after his movie “Mission Impossible”, which was a recent blockbuster.

Cruise celebrated his 50th birthday on Tuesday in between the prediction about whether his box office could be harmed by his upcoming divorce from his wife Katie Holmes, which was announced last week. He earned around $75 million during 2011 May and 2012 May according to Forbes.

Tom is catching everyone’s attraction after Katie filed for divorce and asked for sole custody of their daughter, Suri. According to Forbes, Tom had enjoyed a good year after the success of his movie “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol”, which was released in December, he made more than $700 million at the box offices around the globe.

His career revival followed contradictory popularity many years back because of an episode of couch-jumping on the talk show of Oprah Winfrey and some confused thoughts in media interviews on Scientology and in a video of YouTube.

Top earner of last year, 37 year old Leonardo DiCaprio was on second place with Adam Sandler on the list, both earned $37 million.

Leonardo’s earnings came down after his movie “Inception” in 2010, and his last movie “J.Edgar” dropped down at the box office. Income of Sandler included his paycheck from his movie “Jack and Jill” in 2011.

While putting the list together, Forbes considers different factors including profit participation, advertising work, residuals, endorsements and upfront pay.
