About Kevin Lax

Hailing from Pacific Northwest and brought up in a musical surrounding, Kevin Lax developed interest in music in the young age and came to Los Angeles to study music composition and film scoring at USC. He met several upcoming filmmakers there with whom he works now. During his academic years, he bagged many awards for his concerts and video game/film scores. Kevin Lax is a versatile musician composing music from films to video games to commercials, and even conduct, arrange and perform piano recitals. Besides music, he is very much into sports, travel, outdoors and board games.

Burning Sands

Burning Sands is an American drama film which had its world premiere on 24th January 2017 at the Sundance Film Festival and was released by Netflix on 10th March 2017.

Director of the film is Gerard McMurray and screenplay is by McMurray and Christine Berg. Burning Sands stars Alfre Woodard, Trevor Jackson, Tosin Cole, Trenvante Rhodes, DeRon Horton and Steve Harris.

The story of Burning Sands is about five young men who pledge Lambda Lambda Phi fraternity at Frederick Douglas University, a historically black university. The process of their learning brotherhood mottos and development of a bond between them despite physical and moral hazing is interesting to watch.

Juanita is yet another project of Netflix in their trend of working with independent filmmakers. The film is currently being shot at Virginia and is directed by Clark Johnson. Stars are Alfre Woodard, Blair Underwood, LaTanya Richardson, Marcus Henderson and Adam Beach.

The story of Juanita (Woodard) is of a woman who is fed up of her typical urban life with grownup kids and so, travels to Montana where she reinvents herself and finds her magical mantra.

The melodious music of Juanita is also made by Kevin Lax.

All in all, you should watch these two films for their powerful storyline, direction and star cast, and catchy music by Kevin Lax.
