Must Watch Hollywood classic Movies

I don’t think there are any classic Hollywood movies made these days, there was a time when we saw an array of such movies and that was the best time of Hollywood. Advanced technology of today has definitely made movies that are very appealing to eyes, but there is nothing new in story lines, they are just the duplicates of original movies. There are some Hollywood classics that should be watched once in a lifetime if you are a real movie fan.

Gone with the Wind is one of the Hollywood classics and it was released in the year 1939. The movie was directed by Victor Fleming, it was based on a novel written by Margaret Mitchell, and it focused some of the great names in the history of film. The movie bagged 10 Academy Awards and the people who worked behind it were Vivien Leigh, Leslie Howard, Olivia de Havilland and Clark Gable. The movie sold more tickets than any other movie in history of United States. The movie ranked number 6 in the list of top 100 American Movies of AFI 2007 and is one of the most long lasting symbols of Golden Age of Hollywood.

The memorable and ageless Casablanca movie was released in the year 1942, this movie gained lot of popularity and it increased each year since the movie was released. The movie included a strong star cast where Humphrey Bogart played the lead role, it was his first lead role in romantic movies, and other stars of the movie were Australian actor Paul Henreid, German actor Conrad Veidt, Sydney Greenstreet, Hungarian actor Peter Lorre and Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman. The movie was set in Casablanca(Moroccan city) with the background of World War II. The movie included, loyalty and love, each and everything related to film, its quotations, characters and music all have become a major hit and is remembered till today.

The Philadelphia Story of 1940 is another Hollywood classic that is a must watch. This movie was based on a real life story of Helen Hope Montgomery Scott, it was a romantic comedy. This was a story of a bride-to-be who changes her plans all of a sudden and everything becomes very complicated in her life. The main star cast of the movie included Katharine Hepburn, Cary Grant and James Stewart. The movie was a huge success and ranked on 44 on AFI (American Film Institute) among top 100 movies, and it was on 15th place in the list of top 100 comedy movies.
